Enjoy a wonderful shopping experience with Brand Factory’s wide collection of shorts for women
If you ask us, it is difficult to point out a single type of shorts that can be dubbed the best shorts for women. The comfortable shorter version of trousers is not only perfect for summers, but also for every season. Apart from being airy and snazzy, shorts are wardrobe essentials because they go with almost all kinds of tops we own in our wardrobe.
Formal shorts, anyone?
While shorts are primarily categorised under casual wear, formal ones exist too. Confused? Remember the pretty, tailored suits Julia Roberts wore in the famous movie Pretty Woman? She wore her suit with a pair of shorts, instead of trousers or a formal skirt and we loved how it added a whole new dimension to formal attire. Formal shorts are typically made of flannel and have pleats, just like our trousers would. They are slightly longer and looser than the usual casual shorts.
Choose your style
High-rise shorts: Unlike other high-rise ensembles that we hear about, these cannot be attributed to the retro era. They have a slanted hemline and end at mid-thigh. Some of these come in sailor patterns with double buttons adorning the front and look stellar when paired with button down shirts or pussy-bow blouses.
Printed shorts: Floral prints and Aztec or tribal printed shorts have been a rage for a while. They look summery and come in varied lengths. They have a very feminine and more dressy appeal and go perfectly well with solid blouses in scoop neck and wedges or pumps. We would recommend you save these styles for summer only or when vacationing.
Lace shorts: Lace shorts are well, made up of lace. They look dreamy and utterly feminine and need not necessarily come in shades of white. These can be worn to parties or dates too. The current trends in women’s fashion dictate that chunky knit in lace shorts are hot right now.
Skorts: Skorts are crossovers between skirts and shorts and are essentially wrap front skirts that have a divider inside. These look feminine without restricting the mobility and go with almost anything under the sun.
Hot pants: Hot pants are usually made of denim, but can come in other types of sturdy fabric too. These end barely an inch or two below the crutch and are really tiny, to be honest. They give the illusion of longer legs to the wearer and have a slightly baggy fit. The distressed hot pants with visible pockets hanging out are a must own at the moment. The word is, every cool girl must own one of these!
